The memorial dedication was held at 1100 on

   21 May 2005. Over 700 people attended. Three

   Medal of Honor recipients were there along with two

   Navy Cross recipients. A company of sailors

   getting ready for deployment attended as did

   returning Marines from the Middle East. There was

   a rifle salute, A Coast Guard fly-over, the National

   Anthem and the Navy Hymn were sung by Victoria Robertson,

   Miss USO San Diego. The United States Marine Corps

   Brass Quintet provided music and played Taps.

   Present day boats used in Special Operations and

   Harbor security were on display.

   It was a special day honoring the Navy and

   Coast Guardsmen who died in the Vietnam War.
